SUNDAY, MARCH 13
Season kicks off with solid performances by Speed and Fore
The first round of A-Mains for the 2005 season were put into the books at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex today under clear skies, albeit with brisk winds and cool temperatures. After two days of temperatures in the 70’s, a cold front rolled through Norman overnight and dropped the day’s high back into the 50’s.

SATURDAY, MARCH 12
Boswell and Speed top ICC, Fore and Sanden lead ICA
After a full day of practice yesterday, one that ended with a pair of timed sessions, the big dogs of the Stars of Karting national championship program made themselves known today. The first official runs with into the books with both the qualifying and Prefinals being completed under clear blue skies.

Series frontrunners established following timed practice sessions
The Snap-on Stars of Karting team could not have asked for a much better opening to their 2005 season. With the paddock of the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex packed to capacity and the atmosphere buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be the best season in the last three years, a cloudless blue sky and warm temperatures provided the perfect backdrop. A staggering entry list of 235 drivers will make an attempt at qualifying tomorrow afternoon in the six classes on the Stars menu.

A look at what’s in store for the season opener in Norman
The 2005 racing season will officially get underway this weekend with the much anticipated Snap-on.com Stars of Karting opener - the inaugural Race of the Americas - held at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Norman. This race has become a must-attend event for even drivers not interested in chasing the national championship thanks to the inclusion of the event on the CIK calendar as it is the first time in several years that a race in the United States has enjoyed that distinction.

2005 season gets under in two days
With the opening of the 2005 national championship season only two days away, it’s time to roll out the year’s first edition of our EKN Trackside coverage program. The Stars of Karting Race of the Americas is on tap for this weekend and it is shaping up to be one of THE events of the season. The EKN team will be en route to Norman on Thursday and we’ll be providing full coverage of all the happenings from the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex throughout the weekend.
