| Yokohama Black Rock Summer Shootout Announces Purse |

Organizers of the 2005 Yokohama Black Rock Summer Shootout are proud to announce the purse and payout schedule for the event which will be held at Black Rock Raceway in Tooele, Utah, June 10-12. This year's event boasts a total purse of $35,000 for five classes. The top finishers in the four pro classes (Pro ICC, Pro 125cc Masters, Pro Rotax and Pro Rotax Masters) will split a total of $32,500 cash. The top finishers in the Junior Rotax category will split a prize package valued at $2,500.
"Early in the planning process for this year’s event, we decided we wanted to really step up the payout to the racers," noted Terry Bybee, Chairman of the Shootout organizing committee. "We believe that our commitment to rewarding our racers is what sets the Summer Shootout apart from other events. Last year we set a standard for prize money in a sprint event that nobody came close to and this year we're upping the ante. We think racers will respond and we are looking forward to hosting the best event of the year and attracting the top talent in the sport."
"This year, we've really increased the purses for the support classes." continued Bybee. "These are the unsung heroes of the sport. These are the guys who support the tracks and shops but don't get the glory or the fame and certainly don't get to race for big purses. Not only are we offering them a chance to race for a significant amount of cash, but we're paying all of our classes down to tenth place. That's something no one else does."
