| PR Wire: Reflections from Vintage Karting at Adams Kart Track |
| |
With much attention on extreme sports, it is sometimes easy to forget that karting has a rich history. Reunion and Remembrance, the title of the video from the First Annual Reunion and Show at Adams Kart Track (held January 29, 2005) honors karting history. Now available on DVD for $29.95 from Phaelos Mediawerks, it can be ordered online at the producer’s new web site: http://www.ultimatekarting.tv
The 53-minute program captures the ambiance, feel, and action of the day. In addition to many examples and varieties of nostalgic karts, Reunion and Remembrance features a profile of Pete Berlt, who drove for the Rupp Manufacturing Racing Team, a demonstration of stunt karting by Richard Kennedy, and rare reflections on karting’s early days by Duffy Livingstone.
It was Livingstone who, along with Art Ingles, Tom and Faye Pierson, and others, started a sport that would gain worldwide popularity. Adams Kart Track, in Riverside, California holds a special place in these pioneers’ hearts because it was one of the first places designed and built with karting in mind.
The Ultimate Karting web site has three video clips from the video available for viewing, including one of several from Mr. Livingstone. Other karting videos are available at http://www.phaelos.com/karting_videos.html |
