| Deadline Approaching for SKI Awards Nomination Forms |
| |
With a new month just around the corner, the February 1 deadline for the annual SKI Awards nomination forms is quickly approaching. Loads of submissions have been making their way to the Super Kart Illustrated world headquarters in Toronto over the past few weeks and preparation is now beginning to take shape for the February 26 event. This year’s SKI Awards party will be part of the KMI Kart Expo activities at the Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center in St. Charles, IL and the Saturday evening gathering is expected to see a packed house.
A downloadable and printable PDF nomination form can be found here and it is also accessible via the banner ad on Ekartingnews. Nominations for the six categories of the SKI Awards will be accepted for the next three days via fax @ 905-271-5435.
The six categories in this year’s SKI Awards include:
Driver of the Year
Team of the Year
Tuner of the Year
Rising Star
Road Racer of the Year
Young Driver of the Year
In addition to the nomination form, a reader survey is included in the PDF file and SKI readers are asked to complete the survey as well so that the editorial staff can continue to develop the magazine’s content and delivery.
The SKI Awards are set to highlight the Saturday evening of the Kart Expo with a cocktail hour preceding the presentation of the six available awards. Reigning SKI Driver of the Year Bobby Wilson has confirmed his attendance at the party and he will assist SKI Editor-in-Chief Rob Howden and Editor Tim Blaney in presenting the new DoY with the annual trophy. Motorsports artist Jim Smith will then unveil his rendering of the year’s top pilot in action; a beautiful piece of artwork that has been a key part of the evening.
There will only be a limited number of tickets available for the evening and they will be sold through either a downloadable order form or via phone from the SKI head office. Any remaining tickets will be available at the SKI booth during the day of the party. The party will be held in the resort’s Broadway Ballroom and will feature an open bar during the 8-10 pm gala. Tickets for this year’s SKI Awards will be $30 for adults and $20 for any attendees under 21.
More information will be forthcoming in the weeks preceding the event. |
