| Pimp My Kart Winner Announced |
| |
Launched in early December, the motivation behind the new ‘Pimp My Kart’ program was to showcase the extreme talents of kart innovator EPIC Inc. as well as the products of the sport’s top manufacturers and distributors. The benefactor of this promotional package would see his or her current ride elevated to ‘pimp’ status, rejuvenating a tired chassis into a true hot rod. Well, after working through countless entries, it’s time to announce the inaugural winner. The kart selected to kick off this new program belongs to Homer Glen, IL’s Hank Sievers. A four-year veteran in the oval karting wars in Illinois, Sievers currently pilots a late model stock car in the region and also runs his CR125-powered ’00 Paul Tracy Kart on the side.
As part of the program, Sievers’ PTK 125cc is now in the hands of EPIC’s Erik Penz and will undergo a transformation over the next six weeks. The ‘pimped’ kart will be returned to him at the Super Kart Illustrated booth at this year’s KMI Kart Expo in St. Charles, which is scheduled for February 26-27. Currently announced supporters include Alfano, Sparco, Bell and DeCal Works. A list of new program partners will be released early next week.
Watch for an update on the build-up here at EKN and in the pages of a future issue of Super Kart Illustrated. Complete step-by-step details of this Pimp My Kart winner can be found at EPIC’s site – http://www.erikpenz.com. |
