| New partners sign up for Pimp My Kart program |
| |
Announced in early December, the new Pimp My Kart program is picking up a lot of speed. A new partnership between kart component innovator EPIC Inc. and the one-two media punch of Ekartingnews and Super Kart Illustrated, this program will see a lucky amateur shifterkart racer awarded with a complete rebuild of his or her 125cc shifterkart as our winner’s ride will be officially “pimped” by the warped minds of the guys at EPIC. Set to be unveiled in the SKI booth at this year’s Kart Expo in Chicago, things will accelerate quickly on Christmas Day when the winner is announced on EKN.
The PMK crew is currently assembling the list of manufacturers who will be part of the program and a quartet of industry leaders have already stepped up to supply components and accessories to the overall package.
Beginning with the data acquisition system, Alfano (www.alfano-usa.com) will supply a new ‘Pro Plus’ system with an integral steering wheel. This integral system really finishes of the clean layout of the cockpit.
To trim the kart out professionally, Kingston, IL’s DeCal Works (www.decalworks.com) will provide a complete graphics package for the new machine. As a huge supporter of both the Stars of Karting and Superkarts! USA programs, DeCal Works has become the outright leader in karting graphics and decals.
The kart will not be the only thing ‘pimped’ with this new program. The winning driver will be outfitted with fresh ‘kit’. Bell Racing (www.bellracing.com) has been confirmed as a PMK partner, throwing one of their new-for-2005 GTX Pro Series helmets into the mix. Sparco is also on-board, providing a new karting suit, shoes and gloves for our first-ever Pimp My Kart winner.
Entries continue to arrive at the EPIC mainframe, but there is still time to throw your name in the hat. Racers interested in have their kart’s “pimped” are invited to submit their applications immediately as the lucky winner is scheduled to be announced on Christmas morning.
