EKN Sets New One Day Traffic Record

Ekartingnews.com – the sport’s most widely-used website - set a new one-day record for the most individual visits last Monday when the site was accessed 7,546 times to view in excess of 59,000 pages. This staggering number continues a run of increased viewership of the site that began with the launch of our EKN Trackside race coverage at the Rotax Max Grand Nationals and World Superkart Challenge events in mid-October.

‘We are obviously thrilled at the reaction people have displayed since HCI has taken over Ekartingnews,” said owner Rob Howden. “In many ways, it’s an affirmation of the things we have talked about since the transition began.”

When Howden announced the acquisition of the website, he stated that one of his company’s primary objectives was to beef up the race coverage supplied by EKN and utilize the resources available through Super Kart Illustrated to make it happen.

“When you have three dedicated journalists working together with two of the sport’s best photographers in Bill Kistler and Todd McCall at an event, you can do some really cool stuff,” added Howden. “In reality, this was more of a test run for our team. We now have a better handle on what we can and cannot do with this approach and I believe that future coverage should improve progressively as we discover our limitations.”

Howden said that the next production for EKN will be the upcoming Stars of Karting Finale in Orlando. The news team will consist of SKI Editor and EKN Associate Publisher Tim Blaney along with photos Kistler and McCall.

“We’re putting a major push for the Stars finale,” continued Howden. “I believe that this race is going to become one of the more important events on the calendar as Stars moves its program forward and we are excited to help bring all the action to those who are unable to attend.”

EKN Trackside live from Orlando begins on Friday morning as the EKN team will hit the ‘Net its first impressions of the track at Walt Disney World.
