Rock Island Grand Prix 125cc Masters winning driver Bonnier Moulton (TonyKart) ran to the pole with relative ease. Moulton went to the top of the charts early with a 51.939 and he would go unchallenged, as no one was able to get that close the pole. The second group included fast drivers but they were never able to mount a serious challenge for the pole. Qualifying second was APD Kart Racing’s Kelly Baker (Trackmagic), the double winner of the Pat’s Acres PMT. Baker, who at Pat’s said he went on a serious fitness program in preparation for the ProMoto, looks much leaner now, having lost even more weight. It has certainly shown in his performance. P.P. Mastro (KRT) and Howie Idelson (First Kart) were third and fourth while Extreme Karting’s Tom Kutscher (GP) was fifth, the quickest of the second group qualifiers.
