The newly named Formula K3 class – formerly the Novice category – featured a list of the top drivers from the West Coast in the primary hunt for the pole in qualifying. The lead driver took the top spot in the dying seconds of the run and the battle behind him was very close. Connor de Phillippi was the outright fast timer, posting a 54.386 to secure the pole for the heat race while Brandon Underwood and Taylor Miinch swapped the runner-up position late in the session. Miinch looked to have the second position locked with a great performance on his final lap only to see Underwood steal back the position with a quick lap for himself.
