Kawartha Durham Kart Club is pleased to announce the 2012 Banquet of Champions and annual general meeting, Saturday, November 10th, at Kawartha Downs and Speedway.
Another banner year saw increased membership again, with new registrations at the beginning, middle and towards the end of the racing season, with some visitors committing to join for the 2013 season as well.
A few other highlights for the year included:
The Novice division was strong again this year, even with quite a few members moving up to the Junior Light class.
Our promotions at local events proved very successful in exposing the public to the world of karting, with spectator attendance this year almost tripling.
With the inception of a 6 race pass and 3 race special rate, KDKC was able to boost numbers on the track as well, while catering to those unable to commit to a full season schedule.
The shift to the stock car paddock allowed for increased attendance parking and an overall safer environment, while improving the club atmosphere. A brand new layout was received very well by racers, introducing a very fast corner testing the mettle of those willing to drift towards the swamp only to gain grip at the last second!
Kawartha Durham Kart Club would like to thank all those who gave their time and efforts to ensure another great year. Visitors were quick to adapt to our atmosphere, and we look forward to seeing them again next year. A special thanks to the Fun Racers for their generous donations at our charity race and bringing high caliber competition to the track.
The KDKC AGM will begin at 4:30 P.M., with the banquet starting immediately afterwards. Those interested in learning about the club and what we are all about are welcome to attend the meeting. Banquet tickets are $40 which includes a fantastic buffet dinner, prizes for everyone and a raffle for a $1000 Formula 2000 lapping day.
