RLOKC returns to the fast National tracks for the balance of the 2012 season:
Race Winners to be paid $250 each:
Radar Speed Display to be used on "Rolling Starts":
Banquet Date set for November 10:
Electric Karts to race in RLOKC:

Sanzaru Games NorCal Rotax Challenge Series has surged to the front of all Rotax Max Challenge Series in the United States by having the largest number of Rotax members. The RLOKC continues to grow with the overall numbers in both the Sanzaru Series and the Molecule Karting Championship up over 30% from 2011. RLOKC management would like to thank all our racers, sponsors and supporters who have been a part of the amazing growth of the series, RLOKC is working towards even greater things in 2013!

The last two races of the season of the Red Line Oil Karting Championships will return to the fastest courses at Simraceway. The race this coming Sunday will be on the popular Reverse National track and will allow the karts to stretch out their legs, especially the Pro Stock Honda GoPro Feature class. The new trackside Radar display should really show just how fast the karts run!

RLOKC will award $250 to race winners of classes that have ten or more entries. Call your race buddies to boost your class numbers and take home cash!!

All Classes who use the "Rolling Start" procedure will be utilizing the trackside Radar Speed Display to set a controlled speed for the start of the race. More information on the new procedure can be viewed in the attachment at the bottom of this page.

The RLOKC banquet will once again be held in Novato at the "Key Room" on November 10th. Details will be announced shortly.

As a special addition to this race, a group of 4 or 5 Electric karts will join in the action with our first time "EVO" Karts class race. If you want to see the future of Karting in a few years, then plan to come by and see these "EVO" karts. The Electric karts will run their Main at about 4:30 on Sunday afternoon.

Sanzaru Games NorCal Rotax Challenge

With the Rotax Challenge classes returning from the tight confines of the Dixon track, the competitors now have to focus on getting back to the fast setups of the long straight away of the Reverse National track. The last two races have seen a change of fortunes in a couple of the classes. A win and a strong performance at Dixon has helped move Alex Keyes to the top of the Junior Rotax points ahead of Will Preston and Michael Avansino. With a win and a second place in the last two races, Sean McDonald has taken command of the Senior Rotax class. In Micro Max, Ethan Tavares holds a solid points lead over Valdemar Eriksen, but Eriksen has shown improved speed in the last couple of races and hopes to continue this improvement at the next two races to help close the gap. With a solid 3rd place finish at Dixon, Scott Ripslinger padded his Masters points lead even more and has shown that consistent high performances is the secret to winning a championship.

Molecule Karting Championship

The Pro Stock Hondas will be the GoPro feature class. With a break in the schedules of some of the other shifter series, a strong 125 Stock Honda class is anticipated. The IAME Tag class has a close race for the championship with Josh Buttafoco and Darrin Geahry battling for the top spot. The Stock Honda Masters class has been one of the best class battles to watch this season. Even though Jim Inglebright has been covering the field with the most wins, David Arnstein, Jim Kidd and Nick Galante all have been putting pressure on Inglebright this year. And with the improving performances from Andre Eriksen and new-comer Patrick O'Neil, and strong drives from Brad Shaffer, the Stock Honda Masters class is well worth the price of the admission. The Honda 80 Masters class always produces excitement, look for plenty of three wide action on the long straight from Hastings, Lesnett, Nelson and the other brave veterans!

Practice will be available from 10:00 to 5:00 on Saturday. Practice is $50 for the day and all karts are welcome to run practice as long as the drivers are veteran drivers and driving karts that meet current safety standards. All registration will be at the Old Jim Russell Admin building (to the right of the Sonoma Raceway Main Gate, behind the large wall). Registration will open Saturday at 8:00am and at 7:00am for Sunday. Sunday Raceday starts practice at 8:10 with racing beginning about 11:00. Race Entry fee is $100, $10 for transponder rental, $10 for each additional pit pass, $5 for kids under 12. Rotax National membership is required for all Rotax classes, cost is $45 and can be done at Registration. A one-race waiver of Rotax membership is given to all first time racers to the Rotax classes.
