| Series News: Sanzaru Games NorCal Rotax Challenge Travels to Dixon for Round 8 |
| |
For the sixth straight year, the Sanzaru Games NorCal Rotax Challenge will travel to the historic Kinsmen Kart Club track near Dixon on September 30 and run as part of a Kinsmen Kart Club race. After running the first seven races at Sonoma Raceway, this event will give the Rotax classes of the Red Line Oil Karting Championships drivers the experience and challenge of one of Northern California's best short tracks.
The 2012 season has been very competitive in all of the Rotax classes, making this event even more important to the Championship hopefuls. Junior Rotax and Rotax Masters classes have had large turnouts this season and should provide a very competitive weekend. The Micro Max class has come back in 2012 with a strong turnout and will be the GoPro featured class with a GoPro HD camera going to the winner along with the Sanzaru Games cash awards to the top three drivers.
This year, the Kinsmen club has modified their race day format, making the event different from past years. New is the 5 minute group qualifying replacing the previous 2 lap qualifying along with a two Heat and one Main race format. Saturday Practice will be available to all drivers from 9:00 to 5:00 for a cost of $20, free to any driver who is a Kinsmen member. Race Entry fee will be $75 for the Rotax classes, which includes a transponder if one is needed. Registration will close at 9:00am on race day. Rotax membership is not required for first time drivers who would like to enter any of the Rotax classes.
