| WKA Announces Driver Suit Design Contest |
| Article by: WKA PitBoard |
WKA and Grand Products, Inc. have come together to offer a special award to a WKA racer who can design the best drivers suit for the 2012 national champion award packages.
Each year WKA awards championship driver suits to national champions in the Manufacturers Cup and Gold Cup series.
This year, we want the design to come directly from a racer from any of WKA's five national series or numerous regional programs.
The racer who designs the best suit will receive a free set of Bridgestone tires and one complimentary class entry fee at a 2013 WKA national or regional event, paid for by Grand Products.
If the winner competes in a series that does not utilize Bridgestone or Firestone rubber, e.g., the Road Racing Series, Grand Products will pay the racer for two class entry fees.
See the attached template to use. If you have your own template, you may use that, as well.
Designs should be submitted to WKA no later than Friday, September 21. The winning design will be announced by WKA following the deadline date.
There are no specific colors required. Logo placement will be handled by WKA, however, if you'd like EPS's or JPG's of the WKA series and sponsor logos to use in your design, contact Keith Shampine at keith@worldkarting.com or call 704-455-1606 ext. 15.
Submit designs by Sept. 21 to Keith Shampine at keith@worldkarting.com.
Gold Cup round four this weekend at Pitt Race
The WKA RLV Tuned Exhaust Products Gold Cup Series renews its 2012 season this weekend with the Performance North / Jammer Clutches Nationals at Pittsburgh Int'l Race Complex, the popular western Pennsylvania venue formerly known as BeaveRun.
This weekend's fourth round of the five-race tour opens with practice Friday and the Animal Heavy Money Race Friday evening.
Over 30 national divisions, including Briggs Animal, Clone and X30 TaG, will take the green flag between Saturday and Sunday.
This weekend's show marks the second and final WKA national of the year at Pittsburgh's Wilson Circuit. The Mazda / Bridgestone Manufacturers Cup Series ran at the Wampum, Pa., track in May.
This will be the seventh Gold Cup national held at Pittsburgh and the fourth consecutive season the series has visited the track.
