Team News: Team CRG-USA Set for SKUSA SummerNationals

The Superkarts! USA Pro Tour is set to continue this weekend and the CRG-USA race team is primed for another strong assault following their excellent opening weekend back in April. The SKUSA SummerNationals is set for July 20-22 at the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, a familiar track for the Colorado-based operation. The CRG-USA race team has been busy preparing for the second stop of the Pro Tour following a successful event at the location in June, while also expanding its distribution of the world-leading CRG product line through their dealer network across the United States.

CRG-USA driver Sabré Cook leads the S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto championship standings following two runner-up finishes at the SpringNationals. Cook was among the quickest drivers at the Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge event in June at the MMP facility and leads the regional title chase as well. Cook will be among the many in contention for the victory on the weekend. She will be joined by CRG-USA drivers Jack Bradley and Ben Schermerhorn, both making their Pro Tour debuts this season. CRG-USA will be welcoming Kyle Hathcox to the team at the Pro Tour for the first time. The defending S2 champion made the switch to the CRG brand recently and will continue his rookie S1 campaign under the CRG-USA banner. Also runner under the CRG-USA name is California’s Jimmy McNeil. The current California ProKart Challenge point leader races under the Team Visalia tent with support from CRG-USA operation.

A large number of the S4 Master Stock Moto drivers in the field will be carrying the CRG-USA flag as six pilots are gunning for the victory in Utah. The leading driver in the championship chase is Mike Mantel, aligning himself with CRG-USA at Miller Motorsports Park under the Seventh Gear Karting banner. Mantel drove to a runner-up on Sunday in Phoenix and is sure to be among the contenders this weekend. Robert Marks and Darrell Tunnell, like McNeil, will run under the Team Visalia/CRG-USA title, with Marks sitting seventh in the point standings of the Pro Tour. The top three drivers in the Rocky Mountain PKC series come to the SummerNationals with high hopes. Jet Davis, Scott Allen and David Conyers all showed well at the June event at Miller and should be in the hunt for the SummerNationals.

Five drivers will make up the Junior roster for CRG-USA at the SummerNationals. Austin Versteeg currently sits third in the TaG Junior standings and will join the CRG-USA for the first time on the Pro Tour. Versteeg is the point leader in the Rocky Mountain region and calls the Utah facility his home circuit. Ryan Rudolph and Mianna Wick make up the S5 Junior Stock Moto driver roster for CRG-USA. Rudolph carries the #3 SKUSA plate after a solid 2011 season and hopes to repeat his podium performance from the SpringNationals to put himself back in title contention. After a solid few months making the transition from TaG Junior to S5, Wick will make her S5 Pro Tour debut this weekend. She currently leads the Rocky Mountain region standings with three victories. Rounding out the driver list is TaG Cadet drivers Riley Cook and Cody Dempster. Cook will look to improve on his results from the SpringNationals while Dempster is making his Pro Tour debut.

One of the benefits that CRG-USA drivers will receive during the Pro Tour weekend is the assistance from Alan Rudolph. A veteran karting champion and driver coach will work with the team during the practice day Friday, going over data and video analysis with drivers throughout the day.

The CRG-USA distribution has expanded its dealer network in recent months, taking the CRG brand to new locations. CRG Midwest is a new dealer in Monee, Illinois. The new operation is coming off a solid two weeks at the Michiana Raceway Park, dominating at the Route 66 Series and scoring two wins with Jimmy Clark at the World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup Series event the following weekend. CRG-USA is now working with Texas Karts, an established operation in San Antonio and Seventh Gear Karting in Riverside, California. Also new to the CRG-USA dealer list are Autocraze in Miami, Florida and Performance Kartsports in Englewood, Colorado.

CRG-USA - an official K1 RaceGear and MG Tires race team - is interested in spreading the dealer network even further. If you are interested in becoming part of the CRG-USA network, or becoming part of this growing professional race team, please contact Stacey Cook at info@CRG-USA.com or phone 855-TEAMCRG.
