Team CRG Midwest driver Jimmy Clark swept the Yamaha Senior Supercan classes at the WKA Man Cup MKP nationals
Up first was qualifying for Supercan Light in his Woltjer powered CRG KT1. Unfortunately Jimmy caught a lapper in turn nine on the second lap sending him out in the marbles. He still managed to qualify 6th with his time from lap 1. The prefinal saw Jimmy pick off one driver per lap and take the lead from Olsen on lap 5. He went on to win the prefinal and set fast time with a 45.10. The start of the final saw Pesak jump to the lead in turn 1 with Jimmy in p2. Jimmy wasted no time, making a pass in turn 4 to retake the lead. With his CRG handling perfect he checked out, winning by over 6 seconds.
On Sunday, Jimmy swept Supercan Heavy. He put it on pole by over .25 seconds. He then led every lap of the prefinal winning by 1.72 seconds. The start of the final again saw Pesek jump to the lead from the outside row. Jimmy muscled back the lead with a pass in turn 9. With the fastest kart on the track he pulled away from the field taking the checkers by 5 seconds.
Team CRG Midwest will be racing the final three Man Cup races and all the Route 66 Series races.
Jimmy would like to thank his sponsors CRG Midwest and Silbrico Corp. Jimmy would also like to thank is dad and Curt Cornell and for giving his kart perfect setups all weekend. |
