| Industry News: JW Racing Engines - Northeast Shifter Kart Series Report |
| |
Already victories in the north eastern half of the United States in the 2012 season, JW Racing Engines took over once again at F1 Outdoors this past weekend. Competing in Round #3 of the North East Shifter Kart Series, JW Racing Engines dominated the KZ Shifter class by taking the pole position, heat race wins and main event victory with four separate competitors.
With a 31 kart strong field of North East KZ Shifter drivers, it was JW Racing Engines powered Alex Manglass that took the pole position in Qualifying on his JW Racing Maxter. Setting a blistering lap that put him more than eight tenths up on his competition, Manglass looked as if he was going to be the man to beat. Finishing the pre-final in second and leading the final at one point, Manglass would eventually claim the second position behind another JW Racing Engines powered driver.
When the wheel-to-wheel action began to take place in the pre-final, one driver rose to the occasion. JWR Maxter powered Bernard Muminovic, proved that he has the equipment and the right person in his corner to win. Ron White was on site and was Bernard’s official tuner for the weekend. After qualifying second, Muminovic went on to claim the heat race and held of Alex Manglass for the p1 start at the main. “With Joe’s motor and Ron’s chassis tuning skills, there was no doubt in my mind that I would be a front runner” Bernard added after the race.
With the green flag, the main event would begin. Alex Manglass quickly jumped into the p1 spot of the line, followed by Bernard Muminovic and Max DiBella. Within four laps, Bernard gets over taken by Max and would drop back two spots. With DiBella charging furiously trying to catch up to Manglass, painful disaster would strike Manglass. The bottom of Alex’s seat rips open leaving his kart suit exposed and scrapping the track. Quickly generating heat, and feeling the effects of heat, Alex is forced to drive in a very uncomfortable position.
The young, talented and first time owner of a JWR TM KZ10 racing engine, Max DiBella was able to catch up to Alex and take over the p1 position claiming victory and winning the main event.
Showing diversity and quickly coming up to speed this season was also another JWR customer, Max’s brother Tyler DiBella with his JWR powered Maxter. Tyler secured an overall 6th place finish from the overall 31 on the grid.
"I could have not asked for a better weekend," expressed Joe White, Owner of JW racing engines. "All drivers have truly progressed and surprised this weekend. Multiple different chassis brands with only common item being the engine builder. It is a good feeling to have and a pleasure to be here to support my customers as they demonstrated the power and reliability of my motors."
