| Series News: Route 66 Series Announces $2000 Cash Purse Bestway Drywall Yamaha Shootout at MRP |

The Margay Racing Route 66 Sprint Series is hosting a special money race for the Yamaha SuperCan Senior class on Saturday evening, June 23rd at Michiana Raceway Park (MRP) . The first annual Bestway Drywall Yamaha Shootout will award $2000 in cash along with a set of Bridgestone YLC tires and an L& T clutch. Special crystal trophies will also be awarded to the top three finishers.
This event is paired up with the very successful Route 66 Sprint series based in the Mid-West. Michiana Raceway Park near South Bend, IN and the new home of Jet Karting is the host track for this event. The qualifying and race will take place after completion of the regular Saturday Route 66 Series class finals at approximately 6:30 pm. The race is open to all Yamaha SuperCan Senior drivers ages 15 and up with WKA rules and a class weight of 350 lbs. The spec tire will be the Bridgestone YLC compound.
The format will consist of a 20 minute practice session at the conclusion of the regular Route 66 Series Saturday class finals. After a 10 minute break, a 20 minute qualifying session will be held where each entrant’s best timed lap will be used to set the lineup for the 20 lap final. The fast qualifier will win a set of Bridgestone YLC tires. After a short break and driver introductions, the 20 lap Bestway Drywall Yamaha Shootout will begin. Payout for the top five is 1st: $1000, 2nd: $400, 3rd: $300, 4th: $200, 5th: $100. Those finishing out of the top five will be entered into a drawing for a two-disc L & T Mini Clutch.
The entry fee is $75 for pre-entries and $100 at the track. Pre-entries should be post-marked by June 9th.
