 | | Camden Geise |
After a very successful campaign as a junior go kart driver at the club and national levels which included 2 IKF Screaming Eagles and 2 IKF Duffy’s Camden Geise at the age of 16 moved up to the senior division of go kart racing in 2011. Camden quickly became a front-runner at every event he participated in starting with a win at the first Cal State Karting IKF region 7 event held at CalSpeed in Fontana CA. Camden then raced his way to several podium finishes threw out the year including two IKF Screaming Eagles and two 2nd place finishes at the IKF Sprint Grand Nationals. By the end the 2011 season Camden was the PRD Senior point’s champion of Cal State Karting IKF Region 7. Along with this championship Camden was also the series high point’s winner and was invited to the” Road to Indy” shoot out presented by the Indy Racing League in Florida.
With the trip to Florida and an opportunity to drive the F2000 car Camden’s transition from KARTS to Cars was put into motion in a big way. Upon returning from The Shoot Out in Florida Camden contacted Dave Freitas owner of DFR Racing in Santa Fe Springs CA. about driving for his organization in the Pacific F2000 Series. After meeting with Camden and having him run some test laps in an F2000 at ButtonWillow Raceway, Dave commented that Camden is a good kid with a bright future and was eager to put Camden behind the wheel of his #6 F2000 Racing Machine. Now driving for DFR Racing Camden started off right where he did in Karting, at the front. In his first race ever and second time driving the F2000 Camden Qualified 3rd and finished the race in 2nd position then on the very next day he shocked the field by qualifying on pole and finishing 2nd at Willow Springs raceway. Over the next couple of months, Camden continued his success with podium finishes in five of six races. Currently Camden has a solid hold on 2nd place in points for the Pacific F2000 series with six races left to complete the season.
Camden is very appreciative of the hard work and dedication that Dave Freitas and everyone at DFR Racing have given to help him advance his career. With the help of a driving coach and crew chief, Camden hopes to win Rookie of the year and overall Champion of the Pacific F2000 Series.
