After a successful start to the 2012 karting season, PSL Karting and CRG West are finally ready to take on karting action on home soil. As the Western Canadian Karting Championships (WCC) kick off this weekend at the Greg Moore Raceway, eight Team PSL Karting/CRG West pilots will descend upon the 1.2km, 12-turn Chilliwack, British Columbia facility. The collaborative effort between PSL Karting, the world’s #1 CRG distributor, and CRG West, the Northwest USA and Western Canadian CRG distributor, has been successful to date in 2012 and the WCC is sure to be no different.
"We are really excited about this year's WCC, the series has gone though quite a few changes for the better," explained CRG West’s Danny Kacic. "This should be the best year yet for WCC."
Leading the charge for the team is 2010 Rotax DD2 Masters World Champion Scott Campbell. Making his debut on the potent CRG chassis at the Gatorz series finale in Fontana, Campbell was impressive as he earned both feature wins in the DD2 Masters category. Looking to retain his champion status in the WCC and secure an amazing ninth trip to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, the CRG West/Karting Canada pilot is certain to be on top of his game in Chilliwack.
Trois-Rivières, Quebec’s Kevin King will take on the Rotax Senior class in the 2012 WCC. As the third place finisher in the 2011 ASN Canada FIA Canadian National Championships and the Le Monaco de Trois-Rivières winner, King is sure to be a favourite in the ultra-competitive category. In the Rotax Masters class, Mike Peltier will carry Team PSL Karting/CRG West colours, while Connor Dickson will take on Rotax Junior.
Three Rotax Micro Max pilot will compete the driver roster. After taking the third place in the overall WCC Micro Max championship in 2011, Marco Kacic will look to score this year’s title. With several of his competitors making the move to Mini Max, Kacic has emerged as one of the favourites and is certain to vie for race wins and podiums. Joining Kacic is second year Micro Max pilot Sean McKinlay, class rookie Jordan Novota and Ellie Musgrave from Washington, USA.
