This past weekend Matt Ostiguy, a PSL SoCal driver competed in his first races of the season in the official United States Rotax Max Challenge (USRMC) series for Southern California with the Tri-C Karters at the CalSpeed Kart Track – Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA.
Matt won in the Rotax DD2 class and finished in 3rd place in the Rotax Senior class scoring two podium finishes in his first official USRMC races of the season.
“I was really looking forward to getting back in the DD2 kart! I haven’t driven it since the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas at the Musselman Honda Circuit in Tucson, Arizona, at the end of January. I was battling for the win today with the same driver that I finished behind all weekend back in January in Tucson. It was great to find the speed today for the win in the DD2 finally!” Matt said. “I didn’t have the same speed in the Rotax Senior, but I was in the right place at the right time to finish on the podium!”
Early in the year, GATORZ Vizion announced their 2012 sponsorship of Matt Ostiguy, the champion open wheel kart racer (2010 and 2009 Gatorz Eyewear Golden State Karting Cup DD2 Rotax Champion and the 2008 and 2007 Los Angeles Karting Championship Series Senior Rotax Vice-Champion). In 2011, Matt Ostiguy also had his car racing debut in an LMP - Le Mans Prototype Radical sports car at the world famous Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California with JBR Motorsports.
“I am very excited about my sponsorship with the new GATORZ Vizion brand - there isn't a better brand of sunglasses out on the market today that provides a variety of very cool and unique styles, including in both metal (aluminum) and plastic frames, than GATORZ Vizion." Matt said.
“All of us at GATORZ Vizion are excited about the rebranding of the company and to have Matt Ostiguy Racing help us spread the word both on and off the race track! " said Kerry Lynch, CEO of GATORZ Vizion. “Matt has worked very hard over the last couple of years exposing the brand of GATORZ to the karting community and we are excited to continue to work with him.”
GATORZ Vizion, Matt’s sponsor always has a limited supply of sunglasses available for sale at special discounted prices at the PSL SoCal paddock during every race and is also offering a special 25% discount for all sunglasses purchased online at (http://www.gatorz.com) by simply entering the coupon code: MAT025 (all caps: MAT and then enter (025) zero, two, five).
Matt is able to compete at this level thanks to Francois Doran – PSL SoCal Karting (http://www.pslsocal.com/) and his sponsors, including: Alpinestars (http://www.alpinestars.com), Bell Helmets (http://www.bellracing.com), and the new rebranded GATORZ Vizion (http://www.gatorz.com).
