Industry News: Two Wins and Fourteen Podium Results for P1 Engines Out West

While P1 Engines powered competitors were busy winning and garnering podium results in the eastern half of the United States, west coast drivers kept the results coming at this past weekend's second round of the International Kart Federation (IKF) Region 7. Taking place at the Willow Springs Kart Track in Rosamond, California, P1 Engines powered drivers scored a pair of pole positions, two main event victories and eighteen top five results including fourteen podiums.

"To have results on both coasts during the same weekend shows something about the P1 Engines program," expressed Jesus Vasquez. "Taking home a total of seven wins this weekend over a variety of different classes, shows the diversity of our program."

Noah Garza and Hunter Corbit provided P1 Engines with another pair of victories as Garza claimed top honors in the KPV 1 category while Corbit stole the show in PRD 1 to stand atop the podium. With P1 Engines powered drivers sweeping both podiums, three competitors would fill out the blocks as Corbit would chase Carter Herrera to the finish in KPV 1 class. Garza would back up his victory in the PRD 1 division with a solid third place podium result while Herrera stayed consistent throughout the event to claim his second, second place result of the event. Adding to his two podiums, Herrera garnered a fast lap award by taking the pole position in the PRD 1 division.

The trio of drivers would also see action in the KPV 1 Heavy class as all three would once again see themselves in the top five. When the final checkered flag had flown to end the main event, Herrera would gain the best result with a second while Corbitt would join him on the podium in the third position. Garza would add a fifth place finish to his weekend tally.

Nick Ramirez looked like the driver to beat in the KPV 2 category as the morning qualifying session saw the youngster claim the pole position by a staggering four tenths of a second. Contact in the heat race would result in a poor finish but Ramirez rebounded in the final to drive from outside the fourth row to an impressive second place result. Not done there, Ramirez needed to overcome a poor qualifying effort in the KPV 2 Heavy class to drive forward to another second place finish.

In his first career junior event, Royal McKee proved that he has the talent to run at the front of the field. After qualifying in the fourth position early in the day, McKee drove to a second place result and his first career podium as a junior competitor. Not satisfied with one podium finish, McKee backed up his run with a third place finish in the KPV 2 Heavy division.

After claiming the TaG main event victories in the first three World Karting Association Manufacturer's Cup program on the east coast, a pair of P1 Engines drivers would stand on the podium this past weekend in IKF competition. Missing the top step, John Wallace III claimed a second place result while fellow P1 pilot Alejo Fernandez scored the third and final podium position. Fernandez's podium results would not stop there, as the talented competitor would claim his second third place result of the weekend in the PRD Senior division. Chasing P1 powered Ryan Casner to the stripe, it was another pair of top three results for the California based engine builder.
