After months of planning, teams strategizing and preparing, the big weekend finally arrived!

25 Teams gathered to compete this past weekends race. Teams and drivers traveled from as far as Bahrain, England, Germany and Mexico. Eight teams were individuals put together for this race. The largest race class, GTPro, had 7 teams competing, GTBigBoy had 4 teams, and all other classes had 2-3 teams competing. Everyone had a chance at a podium finish.

Thursday night about half the drivers gathered at Quaker Steak and Lube to register. Many of the drivers matched up onto teams were meeting for the first time.

Friday, 29 drivers participated in the Adv. Race School instructed by Kevin Bligan, Carl Bligan, Yury Lyalko, Bob Everett, and Richard Burke. At noon, teams gathered in the cup garage for the drawing of karts. Teams were quick to sit in their kart and envision the win. Friday afternoon, teams had optional practice and then finally, at 4:40 a drivers meeting and processional of the 24 karts from the cup garage to the pit area. Teams decalled and prepared for qualifying.

Pole went to Kart 27 - ProCupKarting.com. Second and third on the grid respectfully was Batelco Racing and Random Racers.

Saturday Morning, teams arrived early for a drivers meeting. Teams had photos and karts were lined up. Excitement was in the air and everyone was lined up along the fence line to cheer on their team. During the race teams were required to make two mandatory mechanical stops within a specified window and fueling was first come first filled.

Each team had a different strategy, each believing and willing theirs to be the one to succeed and place them in top position on the podium. Ultimately it was Victory Lane Karting who was able to hold the lead with ProCupKarting and Batelco Racing fighting it out for second and third.

Thank you to our crew who worked tirelessly to make each kart, each weigh in, each minute of the event an experience to remember. Dan, Paul, Glenn, Brett, Jack and Wilson - simple outstanding! Thank you to our sponsors NASCAR Technical Institute, Safety Kleen and Doosan Lighting.

Congratulations to all the racers - job well done!
