While most of the top competition was using the Great Lakes Sprint Series race at Pittsburgh Race Complex for testing the week before the Man Cup, Kyle decided to stay at home, playing on his High School Lacrosse team. Kyle’s goal this year is to have fun and win as many races as possible. After last weekend’s WKA Manufacturers Cup race at PRC, it looks like he’s well under way to reaching that goal.
Friday practice day went pretty well, with Kyle turning times in the top five in both the Komet and Yamaha Jr classes. “I left the track on Friday night feeling very confident about the weekend to come,” expressed Kyle.
Komet Jr Heavy and Yamaha Jr Lite were first up for the weekend. After qualifying second and third respectively, Kyle would go on to win both pre-finals. As he was leaving the pits for the Komet final, Kyle’s motor stalled. He pushed it back to pits and restarted, but the officials ruled he would have to start at the rear of the field. After two failed starts, the green flag finally was thrown. Kyle passed approximately twenty karts in two laps before he was black flagged off the track for disrupting the start. “Even though we believe sending me to the rear of the field was the wrong call, I shouldn’t have let my emotions get the best of me.” “I later apologized to the race director for my actions.” Next up was Yamaha, and Kyle would lead most of the race until last lap contact knocked him back to second. “Winning Yamaha would have made up for Komet, but second place wasn’t bad.” “I have to thank my Dad and Jamie Sieracki for keeping me focused on such an up and down day.”
Sunday started just as well with Kyle qualifying on Pole in Komet Jr Lite and third in Yamaha Jr Heavy. Once again he would win both pre-finals. This time he wouldn’t be denied, taking both the wins in Yamaha and Komet. “After such an emotional day Saturday, it was awesome to come out and win both classes today.” I really have to thank my Dad, Jamie and George, Daniel and Gary Woltjer, GO Designs, Jim Perry and the Bennett Family for all their help this weekend.” “I would also like to congratulate my lacrosse team on their victory while I was gone, I wish I could have been there, but I had some other winning to do.”
