Driver News: d’Orlando Brothers Look to Carry Momentum into WKA Competition

Fresh off a weekend of regional karting action, d'Orlando Racing pilots Michael and Nicholas d'Orlando will head back to their national campaign as they look to carry their podium winning momentum into the Pittsburgh Racing Complex. Taking to the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup program at the challenging facility in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, at the track formerly known as BeaveRun Racing Complex, the duo will see action against a host of other North American drivers as the heart of the karting season approaches.

"Both Michael and Nicholas tested at the facility a few weeks ago in preparation for this event," expressed Team Manager Sherri d'Orlando. "After performing so well in the last round at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina, we felt that the only way to improve on the podium results gained was to get to the track early and try to come to grips with the fast and technical facility."

The drivers will be looking to continue their podium streak after success this past weekend at their home facility of Oakland Valley Race Park, in the Rotax RMax Challenge Northeast Regional Series. With the assistance of J3 Competition's Adam Johnson, both Michael & Nicholas carried on with their impressive race results. Both drivers stood on the podium both days with Michael taking a victory and second place result in only his second career Rotax Mini Max race and Nicholas claiming a pair of third place podium finishes in the Rotax Micro Max division against some of the nation's top drivers.

Michael d'Orlando will be the busier of the two drivers this weekend, as he will compete in a quartet of classes over the three-day event. Seeing action in the Cadet Junior Sportsman division that competes on both Saturday and Sunday, he will also due battle in the Yamaha Junior Sportsman Lite and Heavy classes in his hunt for WKA glory. Younger brother Nicholas will see action in the youngest class on the circuit, as he will compete in the Yamaha Rookie category.

Looking to score the elusive national level victories, Michael and Nicholas d'Orlando will be back under the J3 Competition tent under the watchful eye of David Dodson and Justin Stefani. The d'Orlando pilots will hit the track this coming Friday for the one and only official practice day before two separate wheel-to-wheel race days take place over the weekend.
