United States Rotax Max Challenge: 2011 National Point Standings - DD2/DD2 Masters

In cooperation with the United States Rotax Max Challenge and the MAXSpeed Group, eKartingNews.com is proud to present the USRMC National Point Standings for all seven Rotax categories for the 2011 season. Over the next few weeks, we will examine one class at a time to highlight the top-10 who was able to achieve the most points during the season.

The USRMC National Point Standings ranks drivers from all the local and regional Rotax Max Challenge Series across the country using a weighted point system that increases based on event participation. The purpose of the USRMC National Point Standings is to highlight those drivers who excel on the season as a whole, not including the USRMC Grand Nationals. Drivers who are properly licensed USRMC drivers are including in the standings for all seven categories, each counting their best six (6) results on the year toward the final standings.

DD2/DD2 Masters
The two-speed DD2 engine is still making progress in numbers for the United States. It’s continued growth in Canada and around the world show the package is a successful one, with the American market still climbing. With a new DD2 Masters category created for the Rotax Grand Finals in 2011, more drivers in the USA are moving toward that where the regular DD2 remains static. With the combined standings together, Andre Eriksen tops the standings for the 2011 season with a combined four regions represented in the top-10.

Misc/Comments: I have enjoyed racing for 12 years, from Quarter Midgets to NASCAR Modifieds. I took a break from racing Karts for 2 years when I started racing full sized cars. I still stayed active in karting as part of my fitness and conditioning program. I also started training younger drivers and helping in their development. In 2011, I returned to karting full time and focused on winning the Rotax Grand Nationals. I dedicated that win to my mother who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2010. She has always supported my racing, and is my biggest fan. She is doing well and I am looking forward to the 2012 race season.
