| Article by: southeastkartingchallenge.com |

 | | NOLA Motorsports Park will host the opening round of the new Southeast Karting Challenge | The Southeast Karting Challenge is pleased to officially announce its formation and the schedule for the 2012 season. Created as a new association between three first-class karting facilities in the southeastern United States, the SEKC will be the premier regional racing series for karters in the region. Sanctioned by ROTAX as an official Challenge series, the program will provide an unparalleled opportunity for racers to earn points en route to the Rotax Grand Nationals. We believe that the quality and organization of the series will be at a level that will attract the nation’s top drivers.
NOLA Motorsports Park, MSR Houston and the Dallas Karting Complex will each host a race during the 2012 season. Each facility will hold back-to-back races on Saturday and Sunday during race weekends for a total of six events on the schedule. Currently confirmed classes include the full line-up of Rotax categories, Stock Honda Shifters and Kid Karts. Rulebooks for both the Rotax Challenge and Shifter Karts will be enforced for tech in the classes that they preside over. Local class options will be available and these categories will be announced at a later date.

Races 1 & 2: March 30-April 1 – Nola Motorsports Park

"The Dallas Karting Complex is excited to support the Southeast Karting Challenge. The schedule was designed to avoid conflicting race dates with other programs, so we feel the classes should be strong in attendance. The series will be finished before the Texas heat arrives and with a limited schedule, racers should enjoy more without breaking the bank,” explains Mike Jones, DKC co-owner.
“We are ecstatic about the newly formed Southeast Kart Challenge,” offers Garett Potter, Karting Director at Nola Motorsports Park. “Not only will this be something we can build on for the future, this will be Nola first big kart race, our chance to show off the new track. I want to say thanks to Kevin (Adds) and Mike (Jones) from DKC for heading up the effort, with us hosting the first round and being April Fools weekend, expect some fun crazy stories to come, after all it is New Orleans! I would also like to thank Rotax (MAXSpeed Group), Red Bull, Ribtect, PTK and VP for helping us kick this series off”
