Tibor Kelemen joins Avanti JM racing Team for the Star’s of Tomorrow Championship Finale at Fontana
JM Racing is proud to announce the addition of Tibor Kelemen, 27, from Arcadia, Calif., to JM Racing’s roster for the Champ Car Star’s of Tomorrow Championship finale. Keleman, who has locked in sponsorships to make his debut at the Star’s finale in an Avanti-TM, ICC will join in as part of the factory Avanti JM Racing Team in preparation for a full season assault in 2004.
Kelemen, who was born in Szekely Udvarhely, Romania, began racing karts in his native Romania at the age of 5. He is a two time Romanian national champion in 50cc. It took Keleman a couple years after immigrating to the US to get back into karting. But, when he did the success he had in Europe continued. Kelemen has been winning races in 125cc shifter karts in SKUSA and club events since 2001. He won the 2002 Mission Region Championship in FIC, finished 4th at the 2002 Supernationals in FMX and second in the 2002 California State Championship in ICC. This season, Kelemen has been running in the SKUSA Super Pro Tour in S1; finishing on the podium at Sonoma before running out of money mid-season.
“This is a fantastic opportunity, running with JM racing is a dream come true. I am going full throttle on getting ready for Fontana and hope to produce a good result. I want to thank Bacchus Development, McKenna Porsche, JM Racing and Race Data Engineer for making this happen.” said an enthusiastic Keleman.
