| Ocala Gran Prix’s Jorge Arellano Continues to Recover |
| |
Noticeably absent from the first round of the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour (FWT) this past weekend was Ocala Gran Prix (OGP) Owner Jorge Arellano. Hospitalized on Tuesday, January 3, Arellano, dubbed 'Captain America' by Rotax Max Challenge announcer Ken Walker, spent almost two weeks in doctor's care.
"I am happy to say that I am doing a lot better than I was a few weeks ago. I was excited and anxious to get to Palm Beach for this first round of the Florida Winter Tour but doctors advised me it was best to stay away. By seeing the team results, I don't think I was missed too much," as Jorge Arellano said with a smile.
Arellano was hospitalized with a blood clot in his chest area after the holiday season. Undergoing multiple tests and assessments while in the care of doctors, Arellano is on his way to a full recovery and hopes to be back at the track in the very near future.
Arellano continued, "I'd like to thanks all of my friends, family and the karting community for their support. I have received flowers, cards and gifts while in the hospital and it is very uplifting. I would also like to thank my entire crew at OGP for handling the day to day operations and race team in my absence."
