Michiana Raceway Park and JET Karting Combine Forces

Shortly after Michiana Raceway Park announced one of their strongest calendar of events in the history of the facility, including the return of the United States Rotax Max Grand Nationals, it was announced that Jet Karting principles, Andy and Kris Finke, will move their operation in and act as managing partners.

“Moving JET Karting to Michiana Raceway Park is an opportunity that doesn’t come but once in a lifetime,” said Andy Finke, Jet Karting co-owner. “The chance to combine the JET Karting family with the success that Michiana Raceway Park is seeing by hosting such an amazing schedule, sets both of us up for an amazing future. We expect to bring our heart to Michiana’s professionalism and class.”

“Diane and I are delighted to welcome Andy and Kris Finke and their devoted karting family to the Michiana karting property,” added Garry Lobaugh, owner of Michiana Raceway Park. “I am certain they will carry the banner of Michiana fellowship and friendship in this very busy year for Michiana Racing.”

Jet Karting will utilize the experienced existing race-day staff and maintain several of the key elements that Michiana Raceway Park has been known for, including Rock Kart racing leagues and corporate entertainment programs, racing schools and fully-staffed pro shop including service on-site. Birel karts and Freeline accessories will also remain as the preferred brands but the shop will be equipped to assist all karters in an enjoyable racing experience.

“Kris and I have had a lot of success in karting, both as a racing family and running tracks,” said Finke. “There are still things we have to learn, but we are quick students and have the racers interests at heart. Those who know us, know that the racetrack has been our home for quite some time. Moving our home to South Bend feels right. We aren’t just here to manage day to day operations, but also to continue to grow the track in all facets and we expect to take the best of Michiana’s successful programs, and combine them with the best of JET’s.”

The staff will be attending the upcoming Winter Kart Show (www.winterkartshow.com) in Springfield, IL on January 28 and the Chicago Auto Show in February to provide new karters with great entry-level karting options and to showcase the operation’s new partnership.

The track’s website will remain intact with new features to promote Jet Karting’s involvement. Please be sure to visit http://www.michianaracewaypark.com in the coming weeks for schedule and new offerings from Jet Karting and Michiana Raceway Park. For more information, contact Andy Finke at 815-496-9196.
