| BeaveRun Changes Name to Pittsburgh International Race Complex |
| Article by: WKA PitBoard |
The BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, a traditional national event venue for WKA's Gold Cup, Speedway Pavement and Manufacturer's Cup series, will now be known as Pittsburgh International Race Complex, effective immediately.
WKA will refer to the track as "Pittsburgh Int'l Race Complex (formerly BeaveRun Motorsports Complex)" on literature (entry blanks, Pit Board releases, etc.) moving forward.
PIRC Karting Manager Dan Schlosser says the name change symbolizes a new beginning for the Wampum, Pa., venue, one that will have competitors noticing numerous improvements to the track once the 2012 season kicks off this spring.
"With the new ownership group taking over in 2011, we wanted to unveil a new image for the 2012 season to lead into a new era," Schlosser said. "The Pittsburgh Int'l Race Complex title reflects the new era. Since taking over, the new owners have made substantial improvement already, including paving the entrance road, installing new safety fencing around the facility and track, and adding new safety barriers around the kart track."
Schlosser also noted there are 32 trackside garage units going in around the kart track, a new PA system and new permanent bathroom facilities, along with other general facility improvements.
The new ownership group consists of Jim and Kathy Stout of Alliance, Ohio, and Dennis Baglier.

The WKA Manufacturer's Cup Series will visit the western Pa., venue May 4-6, the series' third of six 2012 events, while the Gold Cup Series will be at Pittsburgh Int'l Motorsports Complex Aug. 17-19 for its fourth of five 2012 dates.
