As the 2011 racing season came to a close for Emily Maddison in November, the talented female pilot was already looking onwards into 2012. Once again joining forces with Phil Giebler Racing aboard an FA Kart, Maddison will compete in select events throughout North America including the Florida Winter Tour (FWT), Western Canadian Championships (WCC), Eastern Canadian Karting Championships (ECKC), Superkarts! USA Pro Tour (SKUSA) and the annual Canadian National Championships.

"2011 was an up and down season in regards to results," expressed Maddison. "We were able to show speed at a lot of events but lacked in posting solid finishes. I am looking forward to the 2012 season as it will be my second year in the senior ranks and I now know that I am better prepared to compete against some of North America's best."

On the strength of strong results north of the border in the Western Canadian Championships, Canadian National Championships and one round of the ECKC program in Eastern Canada, Maddison was ranked as the top female driver in all of Canada according to the eKartingNews.ca Driver Rankings. Competing as a female in a male dominated sport as well as being a rookie in one of the most hotly contested divisions, Maddison battled tooth and nail to take home top ten results throughout the year. In 2012, Maddison will look to improve upon her rookie year as well as maintain the status of the top female driver in Canada.

"Emily progressed nicely throughout the season," expressed Driver Coach and Team Owner Phil Giebler. "Moving from the junior to senior ranks can be tough as the racing becomes a lot closer and more intense. Emily proved at the SuperNationals that she will not back down from anyone and showed the aggressiveness to have a very bright future in motorsports."

First of the events on the docket for 2012 will be the second round of the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour that will take place at the Homestead Karting Complex on the grounds of the famed Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Maddison continued, "This is a big school year for me as I am entering my final year of high school before moving on to university. Looking to keep my grades up, we have chosen not to commit to a single series, but select races that will fit best to my schedule."

As mentioned, Maddison will continue to work with Phil Giebler as well as Joey Guyon and tuner Terry Ventresca, surrounding her with as much experience as possible as she looks to continue to hone her skills in motorsports.
