Industry News: K1 RaceGear Announces Partnership with 15-year-old NASCAR Driver Austin Wayne Self

K1 RaceGear is happy to announce their new partnership with 15-year-old NASCAR driver, Austin Wayne Self. K1 will become the official safety equipment supplier for Austin’s NASCAR Late Model team. The partnership will also include a special offer for Austin’s strong social media fan base.

“The end of the 2011 has been so exciting for us. First, we sign with the best Late Model team in the country with Sellers Racing, and now we sign with K1. We are also working hard to finalize with our other sponsors, so we will have all the pieces it takes to be successful as we move out to the heart of NASCAR in 2012,” says Self.

“The most important thing to our team – aside from winning races – is providing tangible results for our sponsors. We look forward to creating several marketing promotions that will help drive value and product sales for K1 RaceGear. As things develop, we will make announcements to Austin’s fans on his website, Facebook page and on Twitter,” says Tim Self, President of AM Racing.

Self had a successful 2011 season as he recorded his first NASCAR win on his 15th birthday and followed that with 3 more checkered flags, including a double win on May 23rd in both the Pro Modified and Late Model Divisions.

Self also dominated much of the karting season; that is when he was able to take a break from his hectic NASCAR schedule. Self, racing for KartSport Arrow, started the season by winning the 2010 Florida Winter Tour Formula Kart championship and set a new track record at New Castle Motorsports Park during the WKA Man Cup season. Self also dominated the field during the Las Vegas SuperNationals by being the only driver ever to sweep all three qualifying races and came within 6 laps of taking the championship when his exhaust pipe broke off for no apparent reason.

K1 RaceGear marketing manager Brad Harvey stated “We are pleased to bring on this new level of partnership on board for 2012. Austin’s large following will help bring an all new awareness to the brand and we look forward to the new market growth we receive from our new partnership. Austin’s ability behind the wheel is something to watch, we are excited to see him be successful with our gear this coming race season.“

Keep an eye out for special promotions for K1 RaceGear equipment through Austin’s social network sites and personal website!
