| Industry News: Ogden USA Drivers Have Success in 2011 |
| |
Completing the 2011 racing season, Ogden USA powered drivers were able to show speed and success scoring race wins and championships along the way. Competing in Rotax divisions up and down the east coast, Ogden USA powered drivers could be seen at the front of the field at the Florida Winter Tour and Rotax Pan American Championship.
"2011 has been a great season for Ogden USA and we are looking for more great results in 2012," expressed Jay Howard. "We would like to congratulate all of our drivers on their successes and wish them luck on their future events."
Rotax Mini Max pilot Kyle Kirkwood was a threat in all aspects at the Florida Winter Tour taking home a pair of main event victories including three podiums. Taking a fifth place result in the overall series title, Kirkwood would have been a sure bet on the title if it wasn't for a pair of non points finishes. Fellow Mini Max driver Thomas Issa would show the same threat in all rounds managing multiple top-ten results including a second place run at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in round five.
Juan Manuel Correa also competed under the Ogden USA banner in both the Mini Rok and Rotax Mini Max class. While en route to a third place result in the Vortex Mini Rok title, Correa claimed a trio of podium results and bested all other drivers in the sixth and final round in the series. While his Rotax results did not match his Mini Rok results, Correa utilized the driver coaching from IndyCar pilot Jay Howard and will look to put that to work in 2012.
David Malukas made the switch to Ogden USA power for the Pan American Championship finale at the New Castle Motorsports Park facility and will pilot an Ogden powered machine in 2012. Competing in both the Mini Rok and Rotax Mini Max divisions, Malukas will be a threat for race wins and championships across North America.
Alex Gamache utilized Ogden USA power to win the third annual Iron Man 150 Endurance at F1 New Jersey. Gamache claimed first in class and first overall and has been the only winner of the event since its inception three years ago. This was a fantastic end to the season for Gamache after she managed to garner a podium result in every Rotax Max Challenge North East Region event she competed at in 2011. Fellow Northeastern pilot Stephen Sarnecki claimed the Ironman 150 win in the Master class, scoring a double podium for Ogden USA.
A pair of teams also showed support to Ogden USA as Team SKS has been using Ogden USA power all season long. With multiple drivers running at the front of the field, multiple race wins were scored for the duo. Joining the Ogden USA family in 2012 will be Keane Racing's Darren Keane as the duo will join forces for an assault on the Florida Winter Tour Vortex Mini Rok category.
Howard added, "As we did in 2011, we will be providing trackside support, driver coaching and engine building for all series of competition as we move into the New Year. Any interested drivers or teams are asked to contact Ogden USA."
