Fall race #4 is in the books and the "founding champions" list has been announced.
This past Sunday, Dec. 18, the track saw record numbers in attendance and on the track. Nearly 80 total kart entries were on-hand to take part to battle for the right to call themselves first-ever champions at RaceComplex in Fort Myers, FL.
"We couldn't be happier with increased turnout throughout our first season," said Track Administrator Vito Depinto. "We set out to put together a safe and fun place to enjoy our sport and together with the support of a lot of people, that is just what we did. Mission accomplished."
Fellow administrator, Larry Marsh is also impressed.
"The season has been great. We're seeing more and more drivers and the competition is getting better and better. It's awesome."
The season's finale saw another strong turnout from the kid kart class with Frankie Davis leading the field along with Mathias Freebury, Cody Krucker, Chase Heffner, Ralph Hendry and Joshua McMannis.
The second largest field of the day, Cadet Sportsman, crowned Seve Depinto champion with 820 points on the season, followed by Aiden Keel (676) and Vincenzo Sarracino (546).
Micromax saw its greatest field since opening day, Sept. 11, with eight total entries. Your season champion was James Marsh with 773 total points. Brother Ian and Aiden Keel took second (673) and thrid (628) places respectively.
Joey Metcalf was a consistent showing in the Mini Max class earning him top honors with 687 total points over the four races. Sarracino (477) took second overall and third third place went to Devin Bowerman (408).
Nick Hill (584) was your clear champion in Yamaha Pipe followed by a neck and neck battle which saw Dave Kenyon (356) barely edge out Ron Thomas (353) by three points.
Nash Dunn ran steadily in front of the Box Stock Jr. 1 class through the fall season and took the crown with 819 total points. Colton Mitchell (505) and Aiden McKinney (490) wound out the top three in the class.
Hunter May (813) took first overall for Box Stock Jr. 2 with second going to Jimmy Jackson (487) and third to Benjamim Withers (467).
The season finale saw the largest battle in the Box Stock Senior class with a track record 18 total entries. Randy Balmer took first for the day and for the season with 786 total points. Neil Graham (666) and Michael Clark (402) made your top three.
The always tough Colin Warren was your resounding season champion of the TAG Junior class with (822) total points. Warren was followed by Mason Carroll (672) and Dustin Stross (592).
Zeb Davis was your fall season champion in the TAG class totaling 702 on the season followed by Domininc LaManna (613) and Tom Mulry (335).
Brad Sanders was your season champion for TAG Masters with 591 points. Sanders was followed by Ricky Nicholson (516) and Danny Collelli (426). In TAG Heavy we saw Dave Syrvet take top honors with 607 season points followed closely behind by Jeff S. with (507) and Tony Aigon (154) rounding out your top three for the season.
Additional notable season champion included TAG Cadet's Seve Depinto (604), Colin Warren (202) in Spec 100 and Derek Sobel (201) in Yamaha Junior.
