Team News: Ledson Motorsports - Year-In Review

Ledson Motorsports, along with team drivers Nicholas and Cole, enjoyed a successful 2011 season and will now turn their sights on 2012 plans. With big brother Nicholas earning the Rotax/TaG Junior title in the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship and younger brother Cole scoring his first Ontario Grand National Bear, both Ledson Motorsports team members continue to make waves in the Ontario karting scene and will look to bring the momentum gained in 2011 into 2012 as Nicholas will jump to the Senior ranks and Cole will certainly be a threat for victories and titles come the New Year.

In the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship, Nicholas kicked the series off right by taking the Rotax/TaG Junior win at the opener in Sutton. Nicholas then returned to the podium at the Flamboro round, this time earning second place honours in the Junior Medium class. Two more second place finishes in Rotax/TaG Junior, along with two more trips to the podium in the Junior Pro and Junior Heavy categories added to an outstanding run at the Shannonville BSRKC round. A win at the final round in Kawartha solidified Nicholas as the Rotax/TaG Junior class champion while another victory in Junior Heavy ended his BSRKC Junior career on a high note. Nicholas would finish third in the Junior Heavy standings and sixth in Junior Medium. Cole would also have a solid BSRKC season, highlighted by earning an Ontario Grand National Bear at Shannonville in the Junior Lite class. Six top-five finishes and another six top-tens earned him fourth in the overall Junior Lite and Rotax Mini-Max standings and ninth in Junior Medium.

In the Simcoe Kart Club series, Nicholas impressively earned both the Most Wins and Most Poles awards, topping the blocks eight times, along with another eight trips to the podium. Nicholas was named Vice-Champion in the Junior Medium class while Cole was honoured with the Junior Sportsman award on the strength of eight top-fives and another 12 top-tens.

2012 plans for Ledson Motorsports include the full Simcoe Kart Club and Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship series schedules, with Nicholas progressing to the senior ranks of Rotax Senior and Senior Honda, while Cole will continue to make waves in the junior level. High-profile events will be added to the team calendar as announced. Nicholas is also set for Legends car testing and talks are underway for Formula 2000 testing as well.

Ledson Motorsports would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and they would like to thank the following sponsors for their support over the 2011 racing season: Cavalier Transportation Services and Ledson Winery & Vineyard, Cooksville Tire, Edgehill Insurance Brokers, Jackson Transportation Systems, Motive Media, Peterbilt Region of London/Ayr, Secure Benefits Solutions, Shaw Tracking, TBM Legal Services, Trailcon Leasing Inc, Vitran, West Side Buggy and Xtra Mechanical.
