Karting Companies and Manufacturer’s Flood IMIS and Indy Karting Classic

With only a few more driver announcements on the hem for the first annual Indy Karting Classic, karting companies, manufacturers and distributors have stepped up to the plate. Confirming their attendance at the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) show and participation in the Indy Karting Classic are some of North America's leading kart distributors as they look to work within the Midwest and spread the word on the purest form of motorsports.

"The support that we have received since announcing this event has been outstanding," expressed Bill McLaughlin, Indy Karting Classic's co-promoter. "To have professional drivers and their managers calling us to see if they can participate was unexpected at first. Then, to have big name companies such as Kart Sport North America, Franklin Motorsports, Motorama Kart Parts and more purchase booth space and enter drivers in to the event is awesome."

With the Indy Karting Classic taking place on Sunday, December 11, the IMIS show will run from December 8-10 inside the Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. With tens of thousands of people in attendance, companies such as Kart Sport North America, Quarter Master, Tomar Clutches, Franklin Kart, Scuderia PCR, Grand Products, TS Racing, Fast Times Indoor Karting and Motorama Kart Parts will have display booths. Prominently displayed will be the brands of DR Kart, Arrow, PCR, Birel, Haase, Top Kart and more.

McLaughlin continued, "The importance of the event is to build awareness of karting in the Midwest and around the country. We are hoping that this will be the largest crowd to watch a karting event in North America and from what we learn in 2011, we will put towards making the event bigger and better in 2012."

Continuing to show appreciation is event co-promoter Shannon Parks, "We are looking to make this an annual event in the Indianapolis area. Showcasing karting in front of thousands at a public event is a good way to promote the sport as well as get new drivers behind the wheel. We are very thankful for all of our exhibitors and sponsors."

With a few more driver announcements coming, confirmed professional participants in the Indy Karting Classic include Ed Carpenter, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Tony Stewart, Jay Howard, Alex Tagliani, Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, John Andretti, Tomas Scheckter, AJ Allmendinger and Josef Newgarden. Utilizing karts powered by the IAME X30 motors provided by TS Racing, IndyCar and NASCAR Series will battle head-to-head for supremacy.

With the one-day event taking place on Sunday, December 11, the jam packed day will feature a full slate of practice, qualifying, heat races and main events. With a small entry fee that includes an indoor pit space, oil, fuel and a set of tires, karters will have the opportunity to display their skills in front of a large crowd.

Entry forms and contact information can be found at http://www.IndyKartingClassic.com. With limited space available as classes will be capped at 30 competitors, registration will come on a first come first serve basis as competitors are urged to enter immediately.
