WKA West Super Series Announces 2012 Dates and Classes

The WKA West Super Series is proud to announce its 2012 schedule and class structure. With moving all of its rules, point structure, and regulations to the World Karting Association, the WKA West Super Series will be certified as a WKA Divisional Series.

Western-based WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series racers will now have the ability to earn their divisional bonus points for the national Man Cup Series via the new WKA West Super Series without having to add additional travel to their budgets to attend the current divisional series east of the Mississippi.

Also, with the partnership with WKA, the series will have Kevin Williams as race director. Kevin recently worked as the head race director of the PRI Rotax Red Bull Kart Fight that WKA sanctioned with the fine people of the Performance Racing Industry. Williams is also a former Manufacturer’s Cup race director.

WKA will also assist in training the series technical inspection officials with making sure the rules are followed exactly as stated in 2012 WKA Technical Manual.

“We spent a lot of the 2011 season working with the WKA West Series to make our rule book functional for West Coast sprint racers, including adding the new Section 1000, which comprises WKA’s West regulations. We are extremely happy to see the WKA Tech Manual getting great use on the West Coast,” stated WKA Vice President Dan Stowell.

The series will comprise of six races at some of Northern California and Nevada’s most prominent tracks. With the price of fuel still causing travel cost concerns, WKA selected tracks that are within a three-hour radius. Practice will be held on Saturday prior to the races, which will be held on Sunday.
