The WSK Euro Series has ended in Zuera (E) with the winners De Vries (Zanardi-Parilla KF1), De Brabander (Parolin-TM KZ1), Van De Burgt (Maddox-Parilla KZ2), Cucco (Birel-Parilla KF2) and Sylvest (Tony Kart-Vortex KF3). The special report on Rai Sport is scheduled on Friday, September 2.

What the winners of the WSK Euro Series 2011 achieved in Spain may be defined easily as a degree in karting. As a matter of fact, the protagonists of the five classes showed off performances worthy of a top driving school. In the just ended weekend, the stake was the crowning win of the European series that WSK Promotion organizes and promotes.

NICK DE VRIES LIVES UP TO EXPECTATIONS IN KF1
KF1 champion in the WSK Euro Series is 16 and comes from Sneek, Holland. Reaching Zuera at the top of the ranking, Nick De Vries (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega) swept the board by winning every stage of the weekend, from the Superpole to both Saturday and Sunday’s Final. His splendid achievement was anything but self-evident since English Alex Albon (Intrepid-TM-Vega) gave De Vries a rough ride up to the end. The English driver aimed at winning at least Final 2 but De Vries was unbeatable today: after dominating in the early stage of the race, Albon endured De Vries’ ultimate attack in the concluding laps, which earned the Dutch driver the European success. The same credit is due to another British namely Mark Litchfield (FA Kart-BMB-Vega) that had been in the first places since the start.

KZ1 CROWN GOES TO RICK DREEZEN WHEREAS YANNICK DE BRABANDER WINS THE RACE
Winning yesterday and wrapping up the score he still needed for the season, Belgian Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) was cautious today in Final 2, which assured him KZ1 crowning success. The same race was monopolized by the team Formula K that with Belgian Yannick De Brabander and Italian Antonio Piccioni (both on Parolin-TM-Vega) set up a top-flight pair at the end of the year. To be successful, both of them had to defeat a pugnacious Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) that after leading an early part of the race, mounted the podium third.

KZ2 SEASON’S SUCCESS TO JOEL JOHANSSON AND WIN IN ZUERA FOR RYAN VAN DE BURGT
In KZ2, Dutch Ryan Van De Burgt (Maddox-Parilla-Vega) won Final 2 in Zuera and was successful for the second time over the season. Behind him, Swedish Joel Johansson (Energy-TM-Vega) finished second ahead of his fellow citizen Douglas Lundberg (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega). Thanks to today’s score, Johansson is the permanent leader of a ranking where he was already at the top.

STEFANO CUCCO WINS KF2 TITLE
Pugnacious since the start of the weekend, Stefano Cucco (Birel-Parilla-Vega) won both KF2 Pre-final and Final. In the conclusive two races, the driver from Biella went soon into the lead and wrapped up the title. Only in the concluding laps of the Final, Thai Tanart Sathientirakul (Tony Kart-TM-Vega) succeeded in steadily closing the gap with Cucco but it was not enough to contend with him for victory. Third at the end of a consistent race, Belgian Sami Luka (Energy-TM-Vega) mounted the podium too.

MAX VERSTAPPEN WINS KF3 WHEREAS NICOLAI SYLVEST DOMINATES IN THE FINAL
After winning the Pre-final, Max Verstappen (CRG-Parilla-Vega) started well KF3 Final. The Dutch boy however lost ground in the decisive race and Danish Nicolai Sylvest was successful in taking the lead ahead of his fellow citizen Nicklas Nielsen (both on a Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega). French Esteban Ocon (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega) completed the podium with a considerable gap. Verstappen is anyway unbeaten in the ranking and leading by a wide margin of points, he is the winner.
