With timing practice, the challenge takes on more clear-cut features between the best karting drivers worldwide that have reached the circuit in Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata near Teramo, Italy to compete in the third round of the WSK Master Series. It is a turning point for as many as 180 drivers from 35 Countries representing Europe, Asia and Americas that arrived in the region of Abruzzo to pass technical-sporting check. After two days of free practice on the1050-metre long circuit in Val Vibrata, yesterday’s results give a few pointers to the race situation when all the drivers are already following tactics and strategies for the next stage. Indeed, today there will be the qualifying heat and Final 1 for the class KZ1 and KZ2 afterwards. The concluding phase of the event will be on Sunday with the Finals for all the five classes entering the event.
Convers and Zanchetta the fastetst in KZ1 and KZ2. Armand Convers (Kosmic-Vortex-Dunlop is back at the top of the rankings, Frenchman hit yesterday the fastest lap in 40"370, for 19 milliseconds in front of the Italian Paolo De Conto (Energy-TM-Dunlop). Excellent also Italian Sauro Cesetti (Birel-BMB-Dunlop), who scored the third time. KZ2 has confirmed another Italian, Marco Zanchetta (CKR-TM-Dunlop), who has marked a 40"466. Behind him, Swede Jesper Wernersson (Tony Kart-Vortex-Dunlop) and Italian Roberto Profico (Parolin-TM-Dunlop).
Ercoli and Fioravanti, good start in KF2. Two Italian Gianmarco Ercoli and Damiano Fioravanti (both on Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) are the most satisfied in KF2. The first was the fastest in timing practices with a time of 41"790, in front of Danish Christian Sorensen (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) and German Florian Herzog (Birel-BMB-Vega). Ercoli was later confirmed in one of the heats in the afternoon, winning in front of Danish Nicolas Beer (Birel-BMB-Vega) and Sorensen. Fioravanti, has responded to his fellow citizen, with a success in the other heats in front of the series’ leader, Italian Stefano Cucco (Birel-Parilla-Vega), and French Victor Sendin (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega). Good result at home for Italian Alex Santilli (Intrepid-TM-Vega) with a fourth place.
Okeeffe confirms leadership in KF3. Surprise in practices by the Croatian Kodric Martin (Intrepid-TM-Vega), which has prevailed with a time of 42"737 in front of Italian Antonio Fuoco (Top Kart-TM-Vega) and Kevin Lavelli (Top Kart-Parilla-Vega). The series’ leader, English Callan Okeeffe (FA Kart-Vortex-Vega) was fourth in the practices but has returned to head in the heats, winning in front of Italian Nicolò Balsamo (Birel-BMB-Vega) and Danish Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega). In the second race prevailed Swede Robin Hansson (Energy-TM-Vega) on the French Jule Erwan (Intrepid-Parilla-Vega), second in front of Lavelli.
Haxhiu and Baiz first winners in 60 MINI. The category of the younger has seen the Russian Robert Shwartzman (Birel-LKE-Vega) prevail in practices in front of Rumanian Petrut Florescu (Top Kart-Parilla-vega) and Venezuelan Mauricio Baiz (Birel-Parilla-Vega). Baiz won the first heat, on American Devlin De Francesco (Tony Kart-LKE-Vega) and Brazilian Giuliano Raucci (Energy-Parilla-Vega). The second race was won by Swiss Gjergj Haxhiu (Hero-LKE-Vega), before Swedish Otto Tjader and turkish Berkay Besler (both on Top Kart-LKE-Vega)
All the Finals in Val Vibrata will be broadcast by RaiSport. The whole program of the Final races in Val Vibrata will be covered by RaiSport, who has programmed the broadcasting on Monday 16th. The scheduling is from 12:20 to 2:00PM, for the 4 Finals of the classes 60 Mini, KF3, KF2 and KZ1-KZ2. |
