| Event News: IKF Road Race Grand Nationals Welcoming KT100 Sprint Racers |

The Southwest Roadrace Association (www.swra.org) announces commitments from top national KT100 competitors to compete at the 2011 IKF SWRA Grand Nationals at Eagles Canyon Raceway June 15-18, 2011.
Local favorites and multiple regional and national series winners David Munden and Steve Miller will play host to top competitors from across the nation. Some of those competitors include 2009 Road Racer of the Year Anthony Honeywell, as well as John Brown and Jamie Brown. It is expected that large numbers of KT100 racers will travel from the Midwest and both coasts to compete against the local favorites. SWRA’s free first entry incentive to any driver who travels over 500 miles from their home to race is prompting significant positive response. Eagles Canyon provides a terrific venue for sit-up KT100 karts. The track design allows “momentum karts” like the KT100s to sustain high speeds through the turns resulting in higher track speeds and lower lap times than can be maintained at other venues. Over the winter, significant improvements have been made to the track surface and facilities. Rough spots in the track have been removed and repaved. Eagles Canyon is sporting a grand new entry and other improvements to facilities. Eagles Canyon owners Linda and David Cook continue to invest in improvements that make ECR a nationally recognized motorsport venue.
Spectator attendance is expected to be uncharacteristically large based upon support from the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and local merchants. If the stars continue to align, kart racers will race in front of large crowds of spectators.
Vendor enthusiasm for the event is building as well. All participants will be able to download competition video set to cool tunes and easily publish via email, Facebook and Twitter thanks to the support of Moverati (www.moverati.com).
