| WKA Road Racing, Man Cup Awards Ceremony at Kershaw in March |

The Awards Ceremonies for 2010 national champions and top point finishers in the Dunlop Tire Road Racing and George Kugler / Bridgestone Manufacturer’s Cup series, both driven by Mazda, will be held at the Palmetto Club at Carolina Motorsports Park March 11 and 12.
The ceremonies will be part of the big Road Racing / Man Cup doubleheader at the popular Kershaw, S.C., venue, which has been hosting Road Racing nationals for over 10 years and will host its first Man Cup national this season.
The Manufacturer’s Cup Awards Ceremony will go off after practice Friday night. The Road Racing ceremony will take place Saturday night. Both ceremonies will start at approximately 7 p.m.
Top-10 point finishers in each division will receive their year-end awards from the 2010 season, providing the driver met the minimum race requirement. A number of special awards will also be presented, including Triple Crown Championship trophies, the Manufacturer’s (chassis) Championship trophies, Family of the Year, Most Improved Driver and more.
More information regarding the ceremonies and March Kershaw twin bill will be released in the coming weeks.
September Chapel Hill hotels are going fast
Unbeknownst to WKA at the time of scheduling, the Sept. 23-25 Vega Speedway Pavement Series national at Chapel Hill (N.Y.) Raceway falls on a Parents Weekend at St Bonaventure College in Olean, New York, which is one of the prime areas everyone, WKA included, gets hotel rooms.
Hotel rooms are going very fast for that weekend. WKA advises racers planning on running the Pavement Series this season to look into booking your hotel room as soon as possible for the September Chapel Hill season closer.
WKA apologizes for any inconvenience and stresses that officials were not aware of the scheduling conflict, and at this point the organization does not have the physical ability to make a schedule change. |
