KART Sprint Nationals – Crispin Beaver Takes First Triad

The 2003 KART Sprint National Championships were held at the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Norman, Okla. July 18-20. The track is a favorite among drivers from across the nation, and proves to be a challenge for even the most experienced driver. The weather was hot, hot, hot, with the highest temperatures of the summer recorded during the event. The high temp officially was 109, but track side was a different story with the asphalt and hot engines and humidity. Luckily, the racers knew how to combat the heat and everyone endured. The Junior 1 Light class had the most entries with Missouri driver Crispin Beaver driving to the front to earn his first Triad and later in the event earning a second Triad to become a newly listed expert. Nathaniel Mauel has been tearing up the KART Southern Sprint Regional series in the Rotax Max International class and also garnered the top spot at the Nationals. Jonathan Beason took home 3 Triads to add to his collection, one of them being in the Rotax Max Junior class with David Holland placing 2nd. And of course, Adam and Johnny Johnson showed their top notch driving skills and equipment taking home 5 Triad’s in 7 classes. Other top 5 finishers are listed below.
