StingrayRV MSA British Kart Championship Super KF
An imperious Mark Litchfield was very much in control at the twisty Rowrah circuit. No-one could live with the PF International team driver who, after going fastest in timed qualifying, won both heats and both finals. After his disastrous Irish round, Jordan Chamberlain was the nearest challenger in Final 1, slicing through the second place dice between Jonathan Walker and Tom Grice, but still over three seconds adrift of Litchfield. Grice came out on top of his battle with Walker, with James Godbehere and Elliot Burton closing.
Final 2 was a repeat for Litchfield, as he pulled clear after a couple of laps to maintain the gap at some four seconds. From third on the grid, Grice was initially well established in second but soon had company in the shape of Walker and Chamberlain before suffering a detached exhaust and having to pit under the mechanical flag. As the twenty-two lap race wound down, the action for second hotted up, Walker and Chamberlain swapping places all the way to the last corner when Walker put in a killer move to take the runner up spot. Chamberlain was less than a tenth behind. Burton, Godbehere and Denis Gorman had their own fight over fourth, three seconds in arrears.

StingrayRV MSA Junior British Championship – KF3
Jake Dalton and Jake Dennis shared the honours in the KF3 class. Roy Johnson – nominated by the MSA to represent the UK in the inaugural CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy - topped timed qualifying from Dennis and Dalton. Dennis pipped him in the first heat, but Johnson was on top for the second to earn pole for the first final. Dalton and Dennis scrapped hard there, whilst Johnson had fallen to fourth. Dalton reeled in Dennis, with the lead changing several times in the last few laps. In the end, Dalton ultimately triumphed with Johnson and Ben Barnicoat only a few tenths behind. “The race was very hard and I had to push really hard to catch Jake Dennis. Once I caught him up we worked to break away from the pack behind. Then I waited until two laps to go and made my move into the first hairpin. After that I defended the last lap and won the race,” said an exultant Dalton. Mid race Johnson relieved Charlie Eastwood of third place, the latter dropping behind Ben Barnicoat by the close.
After a red flag due to a massive pile up on the opening lap of the second final, all the karts were returned to the paddock for repairs and the race restarted later. A poor start meant that Dennis dropped well off the leading pair of Dalton and Johnson. But Dennis regrouped, and with five minutes of the twenty one lap race remaining, took the lead with laps in hand and pulled out a small gap to the flag. Dalton’s points haul from his second place brought him up to third in the standings, whilst Johnson and Ben Barnicoat following. Dylon Phibbs charged up from his grid eleven start to challenge Charlie Eastwood’s fifth place.

Jake Lloyd pipped Jacob Nortoft and Jordan King in Saturday’s timed qualifying, with King and Nortoft taking the heats, the former on pole for the first final. From his outside front row position, Nortoft fell to third behind King and Billy Albone, but soon retrieved second and set about narrowing the gap to King. It took the Dane until lap 16 to assume his by now customary front position, with Albone following him through. Oscar King’s fourth place was short-lived, as Alex Walker charged up to assume that position, and before long King had fallen to eighth. Sam Snell briefly challenged Lloyd, until Walker leapfrogged both. At the front end, Nortoft pulled a cushion when Jordan King regained second from Albone. In the second final Albone made an audacious move on Nortoft halfway round the first lap, and put plenty space behind him. Jordan King followed through to second, leaving Nortoft to throw off Oscar King’s brief challenge. Soon Oscar King charged up to fourth, clearing Lloyd, whilst Nortoft was reeling in Albone having re-taken Jordan King. Just past mid-race, Nortoft took the lead, and eked out a second’s gap over Albone. Lloyd tried his hardest to find a gap in Jordan King’s defence over the last few laps, to no avail. Nortoft looks unassailable at the top of the points standings.

StingrayRV ABkC National Championship for Comer Cadet
A well on form Ross Gunn proved fastest in timed qualifying, beating Tom Harvey and Nathan Aston. Harvey won his two heats, Phillip Rawson the other. The statistics will show that Harvey had a lights to flag victory in the first final, but in fact Aston led for about half a lap, until a forceful move by Harvey won him the race. Aston nearly lost second to Gunn in the incident. Rawson had been hanging onto fourth, but eventually lost out to Callum Ilott whilst Lando Norris had a poor start but fought his way back to sixth. Connor Jupp, who had failed to finish a heat, stormed up to eighth only for Santino Ferrucci to pip him on the last lap. A fraught first lap in the second final had Aston in an incident, dropping him to twelfth, Alfie Brown also off. James Kellett crashed at the second hairpin whilst Jamie Caroline became mired in the kitty litter out of the downhill right hander. Harvey and Gunn traded first until a fast charging Norris intervened. Gunn fell to fifth, then seventh, whilst Norris enjoyed a lap in the lead. Next to emerge from the frantic pack was Rawson, Norris hung out and falling to sixth, but Rawson’s second place was brief, as Jupp had charged up at the end and nearly snatched the win from Harvey. Aston had come back to fifth, but was excluded for a technical issue.
