SUNDAY, MAY 16

The final day of action was a day of firsts at the second round of the WSK North American Series by CKI. The Phoenix Kart Racing Association Formula K Raceway was site for the second weekend of racing for the inaugural season of the series. The weather was warm throughout the weekend with temperatures in the 90s for all three days, heating up the racetrack to very high numbers to keep the drivers chasing changing track conditions. Coming away with victories on day two of racing, Phil DeLaO and Taylor Miinch - both Senior rookies - each scored their first series victories as did Cadet drivers Devlin DeFrancesco and Davey Manthei Jr. Raquel Martinez and Kiel Spaulding double up, matching their performances from Saturday.

SATURDAY, MAY 15

The WSK North American Series by CKI completed its opening day of racing as the second round at the Phoenix Kart Racing Association Formula K Raceway facility in the Arizona desert. Like the weather, the racing was hot as each of the six categories saw great wheel to wheel action take place throughout the day. Overcoming issues in the Prefinal, defending KF2 champion came back to score his third straight victory while Alberico was challenged to the end for his third consecutive feature win. The Junior categories saw two new winners - Raquel Martinez (KF3) and Kiel Spaulding (Leopard Junior) while Cadet category drivers Dalton Sargeant (Rotax Mini Max) and Zane Smith (Comer Cadet) another victory on the year.

FRIDAY, MAY 14
The second round of the inaugural WSK North American Series, promoted by Championship Karting International (CKI), is set to take place this weekend at the Phoenix Kart Racing Association (PKRA) karting facility located on the north side of the Arizona city. The teams and drivers are now in the paddock as Friday practice is underway.

The CKI organization is building off the momentum from their opening round at New Castle Motorsports Park in April and the CKI Florida Cup this past winter. Now working in partnership with WSK Promotions, the round in Phoenix and the third event, scheduled for the end of July, will lead into the first WSK World Series event to be held on US soil - at the New Jersey Motorsports Park during the first weekend of August.
