SUNDAY, MAY 2
The final day of racing completed at the Michiana Raceway Park for the running of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series MKP Nationals. Weather was thought to be an issue all day long however the rain stopped early on, with the track drying out midway through the qualifying session. With a dry track, the racing heated up as it normally does on the final day of action. Battling through the changing weather conditions, and only one minor red flag incident, the WKA and MRP track staff did its part to keep the day rolling. The results from the day saw Nick Neri repeating his double win performance in Daytona, scoring two more in day two in South Bend. Cody Robinson came from last to first in the Yamaha SuperCan category in a dramatic performance for his first win of the year.

SATURDAY, MAY 1
The opening day of racing of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series MKP Nationals completed despite challenges from the weather at the beginning and end of the day. Overnight weather delayed things slightly and a small storm cell near the end of the day postponed the final race to allow lightning to pass through the area. A huge credit to WKA and Michiana Raceway Park staff to get all 10 classes completed on the day. The action on track was led by a number of young guns, especially the Senior groups with rookies showing the way. Robert Bujdoso swept the action in the competitive TaG category. Dakota Pesek made his Senior debut with a victory in Yamaha SuperCan Lite. Junior driver Austin Self scored his first WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series win in Komet Jr. Heavy. A number of other drivers scored their first wins of the year to position themselves in the early title chase.

FRIDAY, APRIL 30
The second round of the George Kugler/Bridgestone Manufacturer’s Cup Series Driven by Mazda will take place this weekend at the Michiana Raceway Park in South Bend, Indiana. The MKP Nationals will be the second event of the five-race program for the 2010 season with the series making its return to action since Daytona KartWeek back in late December 2009. The weather for this weekend’s events is questionable, with Saturday improving while a chance of rain stands for Sunday. The series went all 2009 with no precipitation, with the last rain racing taking place back at the 2008 Grand Nationals in June 2008 at Badger Raceway.
