The month of April is a busy with action in the world of karting with three national championship programs kicking off their season in consecutive weekends. This past weekend, the Championship Karting International (CKI) began there season at New Castle Motorsports Park and up next will be the rebirth of Superkarts! USA on the national level with the inaugural SKUSA Pro Tour SpringNationals at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. EKN sat down with SKUSA’s Tom Kutscher for the first audio interview of the 2010 season while CKI’s Kevin Williams was able to answer some questions in the latest EKN One-on-One.
The third and final national program to debut in 2010 will be the new Rotax Pan American Challenge. The April 23-25 event set for the MSR Houston karting circuit in Angleton, Texas will host its first ever national event in the facility’s short history. While in Indiana for the WSK North American Series opener, EKN Editor-in-Chief Rob Howden was able to sit down with US Rotax Max Challenge Program Director Marshall Martin to discuss the upcoming Rotax Pan American Challenge event. Aside from discussing the new program, Howden asks Martin to gauge the upcoming US Rotax Grand Nationals in July and the continued success and improvement of the United States drivers at the Rotax Grand Finals - the ‘Olympics’ of karting.
