WSK Euro Series - Round 1 EuroCup Review

At the end of the opening round of the WSK Euro Series in Muro Leccese (Lecce, Italy) the rankings already show the drivers aiming to establish themselves as the leaders in the five classes competing this year. Many people however, are developing strategies to counter with new results in Lonato (Italy), this week. Once again, the EuroCup sees the teams chasing for the WSK titles thanks to the sum of points their two best drivers score in a race.
Marco Ardigò’s win shoots the Tony Kart Racing Team to the top of Super KF ranking with 71 points. The team has only one-point lead over Kosmic Racing Development that came close to victory with Armand Convers and Ben Cooper in Muro Leccese. Nyck De Vries’ excellent performance brings his team Chiesa Corse to a third place, though by 30-point gap from the leading teams.

The challenge between Bas Lammmers and Jonathan Thonon in KZ1 well reflects the EuroCup ranking. The former gave the win to the team Intrepid Driver Program that now leads the ranking even thanks to Jeremy Iglesias’ third place. After dominating the Pre-final, Thonon put up a good performance and places his team CRG second. Tony Kart R.T. is third with Riccardo Piccoli and Rick Dreezen scoring respectably.

In KZ2, Energy Corse fetes Paolo De Conto that finishing first earned his team the EuroCup leadership. German Marcel Jeleniowski contributed to such a success by arriving second in the Final. Czech team Joka Kart Team follows the Italian team, starting well with Daniel Fuchs completing the podium. Third in the EuroCup is the Bulgarian team Sofia Auto Racing Team thanks to Mishel Georgiev’s score.

KF2 has started with Ignazio D’Agosto’s supremacy and Tony Kart Racing Team at the top of EuroCup ranking. Also Guilherme Silva made an excellent start and brought Tony Kart Junior Team up to a second place whereas Energy Corse is third with Nikolaj Moller-Madsen mounting the podium.

Intrepid Driver Program has got the KF3 lead thanks to Peter Hoevenaars and Loris Spinelli performing very well. Nevertheless, Max Verstappen’s successful performance earns CRG a second place by only one-length margin. Morsicani Racing is third for the points Robert Visiou and Damiano Fioravanti has scored.
