| |
The Vancouver B.C based Genesis Racing have been preparing for the second venue in the Champ Car Stars of Tomorrow west division schedule. The Calhan, Colo., race is a long haul from the team’s headquarters approximately 30 hours away. Once there, Genesis will be faced with a great battle for the point’s championship in the ICA category with its class lineup of Kevin and Chris Glover, Chase Williams and Clay Beier. Kevin had an incredible second place finish, just 0.008 seconds behind JM Racing's Andrew Alfonso in round two at Buttonwillow. Glover and Alfonso started side by side in eighth and ninth and then moved their way through the pack taking over the top two positions on the final lap. They dueled to a photo finish.
Genesis also welcomes a new addition to the team with Arizona-based and Columbian born, Sebastian Moreno. Moreno will compete aboard a Genesis CRG/Maxter combination using the Vega tire package. The team will also field a factory SGM supported effort in the ICC class with drivers Steve Rickman and Kevin Glover who placed fifth in the first round at Buttonwillow after having started in 12th position.
"Myself and Jeremy Steinart of Genesis have been working very hard in conjunction with the SGM factory to develop the engines for this round with the information that we have attained on this particular circuit. We look forward to an even further improvement in our results and standings in the series," stated Steve Rickman of SGM North America.
