The Rok International Final is growing up year after year and keep on improving its quality all over the world. With 35 countries and 298 Rokkers the Rok International Final has become one of the most awaited karting events of the season. This year the races lasted four days and the organization was fantastic so as the drivers, who were extremely competitive and reached a high agonistic level by this time. This year, for the first time, countries such as Russia, Iran, Jordan and Principality of Monaco arrived in the final. From South America the competitive drivers from Argentina and Panama came into the limelight. At the end of the four days, which started with the wet track and ended with a wonderful sun, we found out the names of 2009 Rok Champions. The four finals gave to everyone intense emotions and the drivers fought until the last bend.
In Super Rok the situation was a little bit “boring” with the great gap of Vantini, on the other hand in Junior Rok we assisted to the exciting final sprint between Fioravanti and De Beer. Finally the Mini and the Rok categories fired the public’s souls and in the end the champions were respectively Corberi and Midrla.
MINI ROK – At the green light of the Final the Canadian Stroll, started from the first line but unfortunately he failed to start and lost the possibility to fight for the victory. Luca Corberi, from the second line, gained in a few meters the leadership of the group reaching Alessio Lorandi. It was clear from the first moment that the fight for the victory was between the two Italian drivers, Corberi and Lorandi. The two drivers grew away from the rest of the group, they studied each other, they overtook each other several times and arrived at the last laps one closed to the other. Corberi, in the last bends of South Garda track left space to the rival who immediately took advantage from this. During this maneuver the two karts touched each other, Corberi had the worst of it and Lorandi won. The maneuver of the last one has been considered not regular by the sporting marshals and so he has been disqualified.

In this way the successor of Steven Brotto (2008 Champion) becomes Luca Corberi. Just behind him there were the Sweden Robin Hansson and the Italian Tommaso Mosca. The pole man Rozycki confirmed to be the best on the single lap in fact he did the best lap and Italy, with the couple Corber-Buran won the Country Team title.
JUNIOR ROK – The driver from Czech Republic, Max Radim, was the main protagonist of the heats together with the Swiss Levin Amweg. During the race the situation changed. At the green light Radim lost some positions and Amweg led the group, after that, just behind the Swiss driver there were the polish Mirecki, Dobija and the South African De Beer. After the second lap the fight was betweed Amweg and De Beer,on the other hand Mirecki had a crash during the bagarre and Dobija lost some positions too. The two first drivers grew away from the rest of the group, especially from Cavallaro, Gout, Fioravanti, Villa Zanotti, Masoero, Cuvacioglu and Bensi. All these drivers were fighting for the podium and during this phase, Villa Zanotti went out of the track imposing the “slow” procedure. In this way the advantage of De Beer and Amwed was cancelled.
At the restart, three laps from the end, the adrenaline was extremely high and the drivers fought one against the other without fear. De Beer was still leading the group and just behind him, after a great recovery there was Fioravanti Damiano. Fioravanti tried to over took De Beer at the last bend, but in the end the South African driver won. South Africa won also the Country Cup proving to be once again one of the countries with high potential Rokkers.
Roman De Beer (ZA) – Champion of the Junior Rok category - International Final 2009 – Tony Kart/Rok/Bridgestone, “I would like to thank God for the happiness that I am feeling in this moment. I have been lucky for the victory, I had a great kart, everything was perfect and I was quite calm even when Fioraventi attack me at the last bend. The Rok Final here in Lonato has been a wonderful experience, I had a lot of fun in this category.”

ROK – Vailati and Bonetti were in the first line, with none penalties, at the end of the heats. The 2008 Champion, Galati, and Fuchs started from the second line. At the beginning of the race a group of 4 drivers were leading the race, first of them was Vailati, then Fuchs, Bonetti and Calvi. At the fourth lap, one of them, Calvi, has to leave the race and the other three drivers keep on fighting for the win doing fast laps. In the middle of the race Fuchs, in second position, overtook Vailati with a spectacular maneuver. The two drivers went along the straight one next to the other and when they arrived at the bend they touched each other. Vailati kept on fighting, Bonetti was just behind the rivals and the tension went up lap after lap. Fuchs-Vailati-Bonetti were closed in 2 tenth, nobody of them made a mistake and the checked flag got near. At the end of the race Vailati were extremely fast and Fuchs answered in the same way and when everything seemed to be decided the Italian did a great sprint overtaking the leader. Vailati-Fuchs were side by side, they touched each other and the Polish driver went on the grass, cut the track and crash with the innocent Bonetti, who lost the possibility to reach the podium. Later the classification has been modified, the sporting marshals gave 10’’ penalty to Lorenzo Vailati, who lost the happiness for the missed victory. Jan Midrla, at the end of a constant race, gained the 2009 title in the Rok category. The podium was gained completely by East Europe: with the two Polish drivers Cebulski and Fuchs, respectively second and third. Moreover Poland gained the Country title too.
Jan Midrla (PL) – Champion in the Rok category - Rok International Final 2009 – Birel/Rok/Bridgestone, “I am satisfied with this result, even if I know that this victory has been possible tanks to what happened in front of me, in the final phase of the race. I did a good week end and I always had the possibility to win especially when the drivers in front of me touched each other. I would like to dedicate this victory to the Joka Team. They have always helped me and I would like to congratulate the organization for the wonderful event, I did several Rok Final and I see that every year the event is always better. This year Vortex organized the event even better and…it was not easy to improve this event which was already great in the last years.”

SUPER ROK – In the first qualifying group, with the track still dry, Vantini made the pole, just behind him there was Aceto. In the second session, which took place with the wet track, Donadei was leading the group. With two victories and a second position Caponi gained the starting from the first place, before Aceto and Vantini. The Cypriot Christodoulides was third and the Swiss Muller was fourth. The final of the most powerful class of the Rok family was decisive in the first two laps. Lorenzo Caponi didn’t a perfect start, so as Massimo Aceto and so, from the second line, Alessandro Vantini took the advantage and gained the leadership of the group. He was followed by the Swiss Patrick Muller. Vantini was quite calm and gained a good gap, taking advantages from the fight for the second position among Aceto, Caponi and Muller. Unfortunately Muller and Aceto were forced to stop and so Caponi and the Argentinian Martin Acosta gained easily the podium.
