SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
The 15th annual Rock Island Grand Prix completed a picture perfect weekend Sunday on the streets of the Quad City ‘District’. Weather was never a factor in this year’s edition as bright sunny skies shined down on the 6/10-mile street course with fans lining the course all day for the 14 race groups. The headline King of the Streets was won by pole sitter Jordan Musser in a fast-paced 30 lap event. First ever female Rock Island GP winner Michele Bumgarner repeated her TaG Senior win while All-Time win leader Gary Lawson score four provisional wins having two taken away in the tech barn.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
A near perfect day graced the Quad Cities area as the 15th annual Rock Island Grand Prix put the first day of action into the books. The world’s largest karting street race saw practice and qualifying for the 14 different race groups complete with no major issues and early enough for everyone to begin enjoying the Labor Day celebration activities in ‘The District’ of the Illinois city. On track, the chase for the pole positions were close, aside from a few dominating performances. Topping the day’s headlines was the performance put on by Jordan Musser to earn his first King of the Streets pole award while Gary Lawson made more Rock Island GP history by claiming four on the day.

Labor Day weekend marks the 15th running of the Rock Island Grand Prix, the world’s largest karting street race, through the city that resides next to the Mississippi River as part of the Quad Cities metropolitan area. Competitors and teams are already making their way to the area, waiting for that 5pm signal Friday evening when the streets begin the 12-hour formation of motorsports festival - thanks to the countless volunteers. 15 categories broke down into 14 racing groups will contest the two-day event that is sure to be fast and exciting.
